About Us

Our History

In 1917, Pastor Emil Hanson and eight families established Scarville Evangelical Lutheran Church. The school was founded in 1927 to educate the children of the congregation and has operated continuously since, remaining affiliated with Scarville Lutheran Church. The church recently moved into a new building, but the school remains in the former church building. For a more in-depth history, click here to read more.

Classical education is a historic system of education based around the seven liberal arts of the Trivium (language arts) and Quadrivium (mathematical arts). The Trivium is comprised of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric, while the Quadrivium is composed of Arithmetic, Music, Geometry, and Astronomy.
